Jack and the Beanstalk
Southport Dramatic Company
Review by Ron Ellis
Amidst a cloud of smoke, and with a thunderous roar, a Tardis emerged spectacularly from the sky and descended slowly to the stage.
The audience watched spellbound as the door slowly opened and out stepped…not Kylie Minogue (to the disappointment of fathers and grandfathers present) but good old Dame Arnold Gorse in his customary seasonal garb of gigantic beehive haircut, layers of petticoats and a bosom that Richard Branson could have floated round the world in.
Yes, it was panto time again at the Little Theatre.
